To recover, I had to build my own clinic
In 2010 I came back from Malaysia a different person. Eight years, more than sixty doctors in five countries — and the same words every time: your tests are normal, it is stress, find a hobby. A Master of Sport and a coach became someone living from one appointment to the next.
The cause was found by a scientist who looked at the illness as a system: Yuri Nikolsky, molecular biologist and geneticist. He isolated my DNA, sent it to a next-generation laboratory and then to a reference laboratory in Palo Alto. The answer: chronic Lyme disease with a co-infection. A common disease nobody had thought to test for.
Standard treatment did not work. To recover, I had to build my own clinic on the ocean in Mexico and create a system: more than 150 procedures combined into integrative protocols where medicine, body, nutrition and mind move together, not one after another. The system first gave my health back to me, then to four thousand patients. Today it is called the Santa Maria Method™ and is being transferred to other clinics.
